Ponnaniyaru dam is situated south of Tiruchirappalli. Its 9 kms from Vaiyampatti. Ponnaniyaru dam is built
across perumal malai and Chemmalai . This dam site is an ideal place for
excursion.

Hanging bridge or Thongu palam
This is popularly known by locals as the ‘hanging bridge’ or ‘thongu palam’,
being unsupported by piers.the bridge upper used for as road, but below the road river was going most of that don't know about that in the rainy season it look grate.
From
the bridge, one gets a panoramic view of trains winding between two hillocks. A
steep gradient gives the area a resemblance to railway lines between ghats.
During the monsoons, the sight of the train, water and lush slopes of the
hillock attracts tourists
